Dear Santa, All I Want for Christmas is Yarn

As much as I love knitted and crotched stuff my arthritis will not allow me to manipulate the needles to produce lovely craft items. But there is hope for me yet; a couple of weeks ago I told hubby I was bored that I could only unpack so many boxes and do so many loads of laundry a day and nothing personal but I can’t stay on the computer and surf the internet for hours upon hours. So we wandered through the craft section of our local Wal-Mart and we found the knitting looms so he bought me the circles and a beginner how to book. I was in crafter’s heaven. We went back and bought a straight loom and I have learned to make scarfs. This past weekend my oldest son presented me with an early birthday present. He bought me the Martha Stewart loom kit. I can’t wait to get started. I can now make baby blankets.

These are great items for beginners as well as those of us that can’t hold needles for every long. I am back to knitting and totally enjoying myself. This year everyone on our Christmas list is receiving something homemade. This has given me a boast to my self-esteem I can knock out a knitted hat in one day. A scarf takes a couple of days but I can see my handy work coming together. Whereas before I would start a project and it would go unfinished because my hands would hurt so badly. I am so happy to have found these gems.
