It’s that time of year again, if you have ventured into any store you will notice the shelves filling up with school supplies. Now is the time to stock your home office with supplies, buy those school supplies for those donation boxes that will be set up at church and many places of business. It is also a good time buy your plastic storage totes since there will a good supply of them since they are essential to college life and if you need a computer start shopping now.
This year more than ever before I am on the hunt for great bargains. I have a few things on my list other than your average office supplies. I want larger backpacks for our 72 BOBs. We are all adults so it takes a little more room for our supplies that the average school back pack has. This is just for our personal items like a change of clothes, hygiene and first aid items and other items for each individual person. This bag is not for food; the food and water are in separate bags. So I am hitting sales and thrift stores looking for large back packs. I am also on the hunt for a net book. I do not want a lap top I want a small net book that I can take with me where I go. I do not do a lot on my personal computer (that is hubby’s domain) other than surf the net and store pictures of the family. I am on computer all day at work and when I get home the last thing I want to do is sit down in front of the computer or answer the phone. So a net book will serve my needs.
A net book will allow me to search for a recipe on line and have the computer in the kitchen where I am cooking and not in the living room where I to run back and forth or holler the ingredients back and forth with hubby or one of the boys. I am working on getting my recipes on CDs and a flash drive so a net book will be perfect to pop in a flash drive and search my recipes. It will free up major shelf space in the kitchen too. No I am not getting rid of the hard copies of all my cookbooks those will still have shelf space but these are handwritten recipes or recipes I have copied off line and they are in 3-ring binders on a shelf.
Many states will have a tax free weekend coming up the end of July or the first of August. Any thing that is considered “school” related can be bought on those weekends tax free. That is when I plan on buying my net book. Right now I have found one as cheap as $229.00 I am hoping I can find one around $199.00 during the tax free weekend.
Happy Shopping….
