Grocery Store Survival

Well earlier this week I posted my household notebook. Today I am going to show you my grocery shopping survival notebook. To tell you how much I detest shopping - I had rather scrub toilets than go shopping – that is any kind of shopping unless it is to a nursery or the garden center at Home Depot or Lowe’s. I love plants and I could spend hours up hours and mega bucks on plants. Good thing hubby always with me when I go to garden centers.

I have tried everything when it comes to coupon clipping – envelopes, those little expanding filed folders, a basket, a file box. Yes I have tried it all and still was not successful coupon queen. That was until a friend showed me her system - I copied her (Thanks Kayla.) It consisted of a 2 inch 3 ring binder and baseball card sheet protectors and it worked for me; however, hubby said his fingers were to fat to get the coupons out so he would never use them unless I was around and got them out for him. So I remade the pages using CD sheet protectors, not as happy with them as I was the card protectors, they tend to fall out if the notebook is turned upside down. HOWEVER, hubby likes this set up better and is using the coupons, so I will deal with it if it means he will use them. This was a little more of an investment than the house hold notebook but it has paid for itself in savings already. I did add a few extras to my binder that she didn’t have but hey that is just me.

My survival Notebook

Tools of the trade - pens, pencils, calculator, post-it notes

These are the new pages. Like I said not as thrilled with them but hubby likes them and if he will use the coupons it makes it all worth while.

Now this is actually copies of what is in the household notebook. I do this for two reasons -
1. So I will only have to take one notebook with me.
2. So I will have the sheets with me at the store. I take copies of the store's price list so that I can up date it and I also like to have the inventory sheets so that if I run across an unadvertised special and I can check and see if I need the sale items.

Well I hope this helps you, gives you some ideas a motivates you to clip coupons and save save save!

Happy Clipping
Muffie
