Ok be honest have many of you have seen the commercial for the new Lysol no touch hand soap dispenser. You know your liquid soap pump has germs right? GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes I know it has germs but I am getting soap to wash my hands with. What is wrong with washing the soap pump in breach water once a week? Hello people where are your brains….The companies crack me up. I know there will be a lot of people that go and buy these and to those people I think I would probably say “You have money than brains!”
So for those of you that have way more month than money here are a few tricks….
Stretch that thick liquid soap by adding 1 part water and 2 parts liquid soap. Still gets the hands clean it will just be easier to get out of the bottle now.
Sick family? Trying to save money and still use the dishwasher? Don't worry about using the hot dry cycle just add a cup of bleach to the dish washer it kills the germs and you can still use the cool dry setting. Plus it cleans those plastic bowls.
Air Freshener…1 cup vinegar and 1 quart water mix in spray bottle and you can spray your shower, your furniture, the beds, anything. The vinegar is great in the kitchen it cuts those “kitchen” odors.
Air Freshener…1 cup green alcohol and 1 quart water mix in spray bottle and spray. I use this in the bathrooms. I also use it to spray when I see people heading down the drive it gives the house a minty fresh smell.
Laundry just doesn’t smell fresh well instead of fabric softener add vinegar to your rinse water. It is wonderful in those bath towels and kitchen towels that just don’t smell clean no matter how much you wash them.
Tired of paying big bucks for laundry detergent? Well make your own…here’s my recipe.
I saved a store bought laundry detergent bottle that was at least a gallon and used the following:
1 quart Water (boiling)
1 cups Bar soap (grated)
1 cups Borax
1 cups Washing Soda
- Add finely grated bar soap to the boiling water and stir until soap is melted. You can keep on low heat until soap is melted.
- Pour the soap water into a large, clean pail and add the Borax and Washing Soda. Stir well until all is dissolved.
- Add 3 quarts of water, stir until well mixed.
- Pour in laundry detergent bottle. Shake each time you use it (will gel). Use ¼ cup of soap.
I use this with liquid bleach or powdered bleach for colored clothes with no problems.
